The UW 100 is an underwater micro hydro generator for fast flow zero head systems to charge 1224 volt battery systems. Technically it is known as a picohydro generator which is ideal for situations including charging batteries on a work boat, for use in a vessel that is being used for seismic surveys, the monitoring of water supplies and homes that are stuck in remote locations.
This micro hydro generator is perfect for people who need energy whilst at sea but can also be used in a river that flows quite fast or in a water pipe system. It can start charging even when flows are below two knots, can work at depths of up to ten metres all of the electrical and mechanical joints are double sealed so can not be damaged by water.
The UW 100 is a self contained unit that operates at depths of ten metres below the surface of the water. It has a low cut in for the waterspread and can charge at eight amps and doesn't utilese space over weight. There is hydraulic fluids inside the body of the hydro generator which ensures that there is no corrosion on the generator or its working parts and makes sure that any changes in pressure caused by the changes in temperature are equalised.
This micro hydro generator is forward facing and has a three balde system which is used to drive the magnetic alternator which will produce eight amps of output for use on a twelve volt system. The shaft has been designed to rotate inside doubled seals to ensure maximum protection and then backed up by two static seals that are located at the rear end of the body's casing. The place where the cable exits is also double sealed for protection using moulding on the inside and a gland on the outside. Again as with all of our marine products the body is filled with fluids of a hydraulic nature to prevent corrosion.
