The Ampair (Pacific) 300 wind turbine system is suitable for larger yachts, small industrial locations, or remote holiday cabins. This microwind turbine has evolved from the outstandingly rugged Ampair 100 unit with the addition of the revolutionary PowerFurl^TM blade pitch control system, advanced aerodynamic blade design and a more powerful generator.

Ampair 300 Basic Stern Mount

The Ampair Pacific 300 basic stern mount kit consists of two 2" white stoved aluminium extension tubes and joiners, strut to backstay, two stainless steel wire side stays, all necessary fasteners and 2 base mounting brackets. When installed the lowest blade tip height is 2.2m (7 feet) above the deck. This mounting kit is a taller version of the Ampair 100 stern mount kit.
Mounting Note:- The thrust loading of the wind turbine far exceeds the gravitational weight of the generator in a storm. This factor must therefore be taken into consideration when selecting and designing an installation. The mounting should be substantial and braced by at least 2 solid stays at right angles or 3 equally spaced wire stays, or a combination. This is why the kit includes one solid stay and two guy wires.

Ampair 300 de Luxe Stern Mount

A well designed and engineered marine wind turbine like the Ampair 300 needs an equally well engineered mounting system to bring out the best in the turbine. Traditional wind turbine mounting systems pose problems fitting to modern backstay systems or yachts with a wide ice-cream scoop stern. A radical re-design was needed and Ampair set out to work with Scanstrut, specialist manufacturers of mounting systems, to produce a new generation, free standing stern mount system.

The system comes in kit form and consists of a 2.5m long, 3” diameter aluminium, white powder coated pole which accepts the spigot of the generator. The base has a universal ball and socket for easy mounting to any deck angle on the stern of the yacht. Two adjustable stainless steel bracing struts clamp to the pole at their upper ends and mount to the deck at their lower ends. These resist the thrust and inertial loads of the wind turbine. A stainless steel guardrail bracing strut is also included.

The power cable from the generator connects inside the plug and socket in the pole and it exits at the base through the deck. Connection below deck is to a matched stop switch, ammeter and appropriate regulator and then to the yacht’s batteries. The system will also accept other Ampair marine wind generators: the Ampair 100 wind turbine and the Aquair 100 wind conversion module.

Ampair 300 Gantry Mount

Ampair manufacture a basic gantry mount for the Ampair 300 which can be installed on stern gantries of cruising yachts, or also on suitable land locations. There are two versions - an alloy one which is alacromed and powder coated, and a stainless steel version. The Ampair 300 gantry mount can accept an Ampair 100 but not vice versa.

Ampair 300 Mizzen Bracket Mount

The Ampair 300 mizzen bracket for ketch mounting is bolted or riveted to the mast and is constructed of 100mm x 50mm aluminium alloy box section to withstand torsional loading from any wind direction. Finish is stoved white paint. This bracket can be fitted to masts of differing dimensions by bending the fixing plates to suit or packing with spacers. Bracket is then bolted or riveted in position. Installation can be above or below a radar scanner without threat of interference. Do not install an Ampair 100 on an Ampair 300 mizzen bracket.

The Ampair 100 has shorter blades than the Ampair 300. This adaptor extends an Ampair 100 mount vertically upwards to allow an Ampair 300 to be installed. It should not be used to extend an Ampair 100 mizzen bracket to accept an Ampair 300. This is because the turning radius of the Ampair 300 is greater than the Ampair 100.	Many clients choose to manufacture their own land mountings using 48mm OD scaffold pole. This adaptor has a 48mm ID section at one end to suit a scaffold pole and a 40mm ID section at the other end to accept an Ampair generator. Made from anodised alloy. Charge control regulators

 AMPAIR manufactures two 300 watt power Charge Control Regulators in 12-volt or 24-volt options for protecting lead acid batteries from overcharge They are not "shunt" type regulators, which dissipate excess charge as heat, but an electronic power switch which disconnects the generator from the battery at the regulation voltage.
