Small Wind Turbine Systems

The Ampair 600 are small wind turbine systems designed to be used by home owners, schools or small companies. It can be used by people in remote locations or people connected to the national grid.

We are the oldest manufacturer of small wind turbine systems in the United Kingdom. We have been the choice of professionals in the yachting community for over thirty years. So you know that we are a name to trust as this community are experts in the field of wind power who will only accept turbine systems that deliver power and are robust and quiet.

Last year we manufactured a new wind turbine system called the ampair 300 which was marketed to the marine and remote location market. The ampair are new small turbine systems with an output of six hundred watts designed to meet the growing demand of people who require a renewable energy source.

All permanently installed wind turbines require planning consent, in the same way that satellite dishes do. In many other countries, householders are allowed to install small wind turbines without formal permission, and it is possible that may become the case in the UK as well.

While very few small wind turbine systems in the UK have been installed with planning consent, we recommend that you seek it if you want to be on the safe side. We can apply for planning consent on your behalf. If you have neighbouring houses close to your turbine, please note that the Ampair is renowned as the quietest wind turbine in the industry. It produces a broad spectrum of background white noise, with no irritating tones or any mechanical sounds. In low winds, the turbine is virtually inaudible. And in high winds, the minimal noise of the turbine is masked by the noise of the wind itself.
