Sine wave inverters are typically integrated
into solar power, wind energy, or UPS systems. They are very different to the
sort of inverters used in motor drives which can confuse some of our clients
since we serve both markets - just contact us if you
want to know more about the differences.
Smaller sine wave inverters are ideal for mobile
applications such as vehicles, caravans, boats, and base camps (we've used them
when climbing on K2 and Everest). Larger inverters are designed for
substantial vessels and buildings.
All prices and specifications refer to 220-240 Volt x 50 Hz
output voltages (i.e. standard UK and continental European electrical supply)
but we also offer 110 Volt x 60 Hz models at similar prices for areas such as
North America. The smaller inverters are generally used in 'islanded' mode, i.e.
not connected to the electricity grid whilst the larger inverters can switch
between islanded and grid-connected modes so as to act as the local hub of
distributed generation and UPS systems.
